Transforming the way you order food
Founded in 2013 by Will Shu in London, Deliveroo is a three-sided marketplace that aims to bring you the best food to your door in as little as 30 minutes.
Deliveroo is now in over a dozen countries around the world, helping connect hungry people with their favourite restaurants, takeaways, or even local grocery shops.
Spoiler: It's not only for the food
First off, their design strategy. The food delivery space is extremely competitive, and it was obvious to me how much Deliveroo has been investing in its customer experience to set itself apart. I'm extremly grateful to get to contribute towards this.
Secondly, and possibly the most important reason, the people. You'd hopefully say this about most places you work, but Deliveroo is full of some of the nicest people. From speaking to recruiters when they first reached out, to meeting with the team, and finally getting to work with them. extremely talented, but more importantly, but more importantly just really nice people.
And lastly, I'd been at Booking.com for seven years before joining Deliveroo. I missed good old British cuisine and thought what better way to make up for lost time? 😂
Staff Product Designer on our consumer facing products
I work closely with an incredible team who focus on solving the most impactful problem that hungry people face using our products every day.
No two days are the same.
One day I may be running some research on UserTesting.com to learn some known unknowns or working with our research team to discover new unknown unknowns.
The next I may be working with our product and tech teams to facilitate a workshop and lead a new project that might span multiple quarters.
The day after that I may be asked to jump in and support a team that's creating a white label version of Deliveroo like this one for Nandos.
I love this type of work; I get to use my skills across the entire product design process from end-to-end.
